Best Practices for Diversity in Private Radio

CRTC Adopts Revised Version of CAB's Best Practices for Diversity in Private Radio
In Broadcasting Public Notice 2007-122 the Commission adopts a revised version of the CAB's Best Practices. The CRTC also adopts a modified version of the CAB's approach to diversity for small members, on the issue of reporting requirements. Small commercial radio operators (with revenues of up to $20 million) will be exempted from reporting requirements. Regarding a proposal from the CAB that small radio operators be exempt from the Commission's new Canadian Content Development (CCD) policy, the Commission considers this premature. The CAB will be advising members on how this decision applies to them. The Public Notice can be accessed by clicking here.
