Astral Media Announces Diversity Scholarship
Astral Media has announced its annual scholarship for diversity in broadcasting. The scholarship, worth $5,000, is geared towards encouraging a francophone student from a visible minority or Aboriginal background to pursue his or her university studies in broadcasting.
Through this initiative, Astral Media reinforces its support for up-and-coming talent and for developing a broad and diverse base of young media professionals in Canada. With a firm belief that more cultural minorities should be integrated into Canada’s broadcasting industry, Astral Media is delighted to contribute to changing the face of the industry by investing in education.
Candidates for the scholarship must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, be francophone, from a visible minority or Aboriginal community, and have studied for at least one semester at a Canadian university in a program related to broadcasting including radio broadcasting, television broadcasting, radio and television production and new media studies. A jury will examine candidates based on their academic standing and motivation to pursue a career in the field of broadcasting.
