In August 2001, the CRTC released Public Notice 2001-88, calling on the CAB to create and fund an industry/community task force to address the reflection and portrayal of Canada’s cultural diversity on television. The Task Force for Cultural Diversity on Television, comprised of five industry representatives and four non-industry representatives, was formed in July 2002.
