The CAB presented for the first time a Gold Ribbon Award for Excellence in Aboriginal Programming at The Future Summit, the CAB’s 2005 National Convention in Winnipeg this past November. This new award honours the station or service that has made the greatest contribution to the development, creation and production of an outstanding Canadian program or series dealing with an Aboriginal theme or tackling an Aboriginal issue, designed to enlighten, inform and develop awareness in the community.
The inaugural winner of the Gold Ribbon Award for Excellence in Aboriginal Programming is CFMT-TV/CJMT-TV, Toronto (Omni 1 and Omni 2) for Mushuau Innu: Surviving Canada. Click here to view a video clip.
