Persons with Disabilities


In August 2004, the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) submitted an action plan for examining issues concerning the presence, portrayal and participation of persons with disabilities in television programming to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). The CAB submitted it's report to the CRTC on its research findings on September 16th, 2005.

Human Resources and Social Development Minister Commends CAB's Work on Diversity
In a letter to CAB President and CEO Glenn O'Farrell, the Hon. Monty Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, thanked the CAB for its commitment and the action it has taken with its persons with disabilities initiatives. "I commend the Canadian Association of Broadcasters for providing valued leadership on matters concerning people with disabilities" the Minister wrote.
