The 2008 Gold Ribbon Award for Broadcast Excellence was presented to Rael Merson, President and CEO of Rogers Broadcasting Limited, as announced in a previous CAB release. A total of 403 submissions were received for the 2008 Gold Ribbon Awards These awards are among the most prestigious in the Canadian broadcasting industry, and recognize outstanding productions in radio, television, specialty and pay and pay-per-view services, and community service. The Canadian Association of Broadcasters is the national voice of Canada’s private broadcasters, representing the vast majority of Canadian programming services, including private radio and television stations, networks, specialty, pay and pay-per-view services.
